Web Site Packages

Promote your book online with a quality web site that can increase the sales of your book. Visitors can purchase your book on the site using any major credit card and LifeVest will handle the order fulfillment. Each site is professionally developed and can use your own images and illustrations or professional stock images from our huge collection. Additionally, traffic will be driven to your site by search engine optimization and online advertising. All sites include a domain name, one year of web site hosting and at least one email address.

All web site packages include:

A “Buy Me” button that links to LifeVest’s shopping cart or through the author’s merchant account. Please Note: If through the author’s merchant account then the author is responsible for order fulfillment).

Collect information from visitors have it e-mailed to you automatically. These forms can also be linked to a basic content management system to store data on a password protected area of your site.

Use existing images, illustrations or photos from your book.

LifeVest will register the domain name or transfer an existing domain name to LifeVest’s hosting service (author incurs any transfer fees).

Standard Author Site

Choose from a variety of pre-designed styles and layouts to compliment the color and theme of your book. Up to ten pages are built for you site and each page is built entirely in HTML using your own images and/or our stock photography. You can also add up to five (5) web site features to increase the appeal of your site and keep visitors there longer.

Enhanced Author Site

Increase your web site’s appeal by enhancing it with Flash elements and navigation. Flash provides more functionality, creates smoother page transitions and improves the overall experience for your web site visitors. Plus the site can be animated to bring your storybook characters to life, which is ideal for children’s books. The additional web pages and web site features give you even more options to promote your book and communicate with your readers. This package also includes web site maintenance.

Self Promotional Author Site

The Promotional Author Site is our most comprehensive web site package and the most promotional web site tool available to LifeVest authors from LifeVest Publishing, Inc. Custom designed by our in-house developer and it includes all the web site features available (15). It can be built entirely in Flash, complete with animated navigation, page transitions, and graphics. It also includes an animated intro page and pre-loader, as well as more stock images, email addresses, and maintenance time than the Enhanced package. Landing pages can be added for additional marketing impact and to track the number of people who have viewed the site. Ultimately, this package will equip the author with the most effective website to promote and sell their book nationally and internationally.

Web Site Features

A password protected area on your website that allows you to add, delete or update text on your site.

A blog is slang for a “weblog”. It’s an online journal of your thoughts and opinions and a great way to communicate about your book and events. Blogs can be posted online with or without a viewer’s ability to respond. If you desire a respond option, a forum might be considered.

An interactive environment on your website that allows you to post discussions based topics you create. Visitors can post comments at any time (whether anyone else is online or not) and all comments remain posted in the forum for visitors to see at any time.

Post upcoming events for author book signings,tradeshows, etc.

An online area of your website where a group of people can communicate in real time via typed responses. Only those in the chat room will have a record of what has been typed, and there is a limit to the number of participants in a chat room at one time.

Ability to post news feeds about different topics as a convenience to visitors on your site. The news feeds are generally relevant to the website content.

Points one domain name to another domain name. Example: someone types www.authorstobelievein.com and the Internet takes them to www.Lifevestbooks.com.

Just like a guest book at parties and weddings, visitors to your site can leave a record of their visit and a comment too.

Display images or photos on a website for easy browsing. Thumbnail images allow viewers to glance at the image collection then click to view a larger image.

An animated introduction to your website that can include images, product photos and music. Viewers have the option to “skip intro” by clicking a button that bypasses it so they can go straight to the main page of the web site.

Separate web pages that are optimized with specific text and content to attract search engines using specific keywords. The pages are extensions of the main web site but are created for marketing purposes to track trends and success rates for a product.
